YELLing for Success at Allan Hancock

More than 150 teens came to the Performing Arts Center at Allan Hancock College on a recent Saturday to attend the latest YELL seminar.
YELL stands for Young Educated Latino Leaders and is the name of a conference designed to encourage students to pursue a higher education.

Delgadillo Crowned as Black and White Ball Queen

It was another fine edition of the Black and White Ball last weekend in Santa Maria.
The 62nd Annual event was hosted, as always, by the Mexican Ladies Social Club and was well-attended despite the recent economic turndown.
Alicia Delgadillo took home the title of queen this year.
